How Australia’s Tastiest Chicken Started
David and Christine Coles, the owners of Rosie’s Chicken, started out by providing marketing services to existing fast food providers in Australia. That quickly morphed into one of Australia’s most unique and flexible fast-food options for small to medium size businesses in Australia.
The first outlet was a small takeaway business, the Doo Duck Inn, in Bullsbrook, WA. The site began serving Rosie’s signature Fried Chicken in 1998 just outside Perth, Western Australia. The Doo Duck Inn outlet is still going strong, serving more Rosie’s Chicken than it has ever before and continues to be one of many shining examples of what Rosie’s Chicken can do for a small business. Doo Duck has made literally millions of dollars in profit since then, as have other Rosie’s outlets over time. Costing about as much as a second-hand car in capital investment, sites like Doo Duck in Bullsbrook have created a successful business with over 20 years of operation with no added expenses in advertising, and simply built their success on the word of mouth in the area as the place to go for Australia’s Tastiest Chicken.
